Bruce praises Cats resilience
Sunderland, 08:59, February 2, 2010 ,
Steve Bruce says he was happy with Sunderland's commitment against Stoke but admits the quality was lacking.
The Black Cats fought out a 0-0 draw with the Potters in a dismal game at the Stadium of Light and although Bruce says he was happy with the way his players gave their all, he wanted more quality and all three points.
Sunderland have been on a poor run and are still looking over their shoulders at the drop zone but with players due to return Bruce is hoping for an upturn in fortunes.
"You want three to end the run we've been in but we were nervous and edgy but at least there was the commitment there," Bruce revealed. "But we lacked that bit of quality. We are getting people back - at least there was resilience that there hasn't been.
"I don't think you have got any viewers left. But it might be the springboard we need. It was an abysmal game to be honest."
