Bruce to move again for Welsh star
Sunderland, 12:18, December 27, 2009 ,
Steve Bruce is lining up an audacious bid to bring Craig Bellamy back to the North East after learning he may want out of Man City.
The Sunderland manager has already missed out on signing the former Newcastle man three times - twice while in charge at Birmingham and once at Wigan, but he's not giving up.
Bellamy is reportedly unsettled at Eastlands after Mark Hughes was sacked as City boss last weekend, just hours after Bellamy had scored in the Blues' 4-3 win against the Black Cats.
The Welsh international has also apparently had a run-in this week with his successor Roberto Mancini and that could open the door to Bruce to make a move for the striker who cost City £14m from West Ham last January.
Bruce said: "I've tried to sign Craig three times already and he tortured us last week. He's a very good player."
Sunderland could face competition though for his services with Spurs boss Harry Redknapp also confirmed as a long-time admirer.
