Sunderland are watching Bulgarian striker Ivelin Popov - who scored for Litex Lovech against Aston Villa this afternoon.
A Black Cats representative was in the crowd when Villa took on the Bulgarian cup winners at Lovech Stadium - and went 1-0 down to Popov's 10th-minute header.
The 20-year-old plays as a right-sided forward and is known to be a colourful character both on and off the field.
Popov, who has five caps for Bulgaria, was linked with moves to Manchester City and Blackburn Rovers last season.
