Cats linked with midfield swoop

Sunderland are keeping tabs on Litex Lovech midfielder Ivelin Popov with a view to a January swoop.
Black Cats boss Roy Keane sent scouts to watch the Bulgarian in action when his side took on Aston Villa in the Uefa Cup and the scouting reports have been favourable.
Sunderland will take another look at him in the return leg next Thursday and it looks as though Keane is lining up a swoop for the talented 20-year-old.
Blackburn Rovers are also said to be monitoring the player's progress.
