Cats won't fade away
Sunderland, 14:23, April 6, 2010 ,
Sunderland starlet Jordan Henderson claims his side will not let the season 'just fade out' after all but ensuring survival.
The Wearsiders secured an impressive 3-1 victory over Champions League chasing Spurs in their last outing as the Black Cats moved on to 38 points - 12 points clear of third from bottom Hull City.
However, Henderson insists the side aren't going to relax just yet and has targeted a blistering end to a campaign which started so promisingly for Sunderland before a poor run saw them dragged into the relegation battle.
He said: "We had our bad run and people perhaps wondered about us, but the squad became stretched because of all the injuries and we're showing better qualities now,
"You could see on Saturday how much we wanted the win. A few people had said we were probably already safe, but there's no way our season will just fade out now.
"We have to look forward - and who knows where we can finish at the end of the season if we keep our confidence up?"
