Colback can't wait for Tyne-Wear showdown
Jack Colback has admitted the Sunderland squad are itching for the Tyne-Wear derby next weekend to erase last season's bad memory.
Colback says the current international break has disrupted the Black Cats' Premier League season and he cannot wait for the big clash with Newcastle that follows it.
Shola Ameobi's last-minute equaliser in the corresponding game last season, which denied Sunderland their first victory in the fixture since October 2008, still lingers in midfielder Colback's memory and he is eager to make amends when the two sides clash in the big derby again on October 21.
Colback said: "We can't wait for the derby. I thought we should have won at least one of the derby matches last season.
"The game at St James' Park still stings a little bit. I'm not one for looking back, but it was really disappointing to concede so late on as we did that day."
