Defender set to stay - agent
Sunderland, 18:25, November 25, 2008 ,
Pascal Chimbonda's agent says the player is happy at Sunderland and has dismissed talk linking him with a move to Lyon.
Chimbonda only signed for the Black Cats from Tottenham in the summer but already there are reports he could be heading for the Stadium of Light exit door.
The Frenchman is reported to have had a fall out with Black Cats boss Roy Keane and French champions Lyon have been linked with a £4million January swoop.
However the player's agent Willie McKay has played down such talk and says his client is happy at Sunderland.
"Anything's a possibility in football but there's been no contact from Lyon," he revealed. "I couldn't tell you if Chimbonda's out of favour at Sunderland because it's Roy Keane who picks the team.
"He's quite happy at Sunderland to tell you the truth. I believe that he'll stay in the Premiership."
