Defender swoop mooted

Sunderland are once again being linked with a swoop for Everton full-back Leighton Baines, who could be on the move in January.
The full-back has constantly been linked with a move to the Stadium of Light but it was thought the rumours would stop after Roy Keane brought George McCartney back to the club.
However, fresh reports are linking Keane with a £6million swoop as soon as the window opens again in January. Everton officials seem happy with Baines but a move looks likely to happen in the new year, whether that be to Sunderland or somewhere else.
"He has never moaned or complained," said assistant manager Steve Round.
"He has got on with the job and trained superbly and if he pushes himself as I know he can, he could develop into one of the best left-backs in the Premier League."
