Paul McShane and Daryl Murphy will snub the offer from former manager Roy Keane to join him at Ipswich and will stay at Sunderland.
The pair have been linked with a move to Portman Road as Keane looks to re-use the strategy that got Sunderland promoted to the Premier League in 2007.
However, neither are reportedly willing to leave the Stadium of Light to join Ipswich as they believe their careers still lie in the north-east under new manager Steve Bruce.
Bruce says every player will be given a chance to impress him when pre-season training starts in July, but with the new boss looking to bring in a number of new players McShane and Murphy could find their first-team opportunities greatly limited.
