FA Cup finalists Cardiff may turn back to Sunderland's Michael Chopra if they fail with a fresh bid for Rangers striker Kris Boyd.
The Bluebirds are keen to bring in a goalscorer ahead of next season and chairman Peter Ridsdale confirmed they will be making a revised offer for their top target - believed to be Boyd - after failing with an initial £2.5million offer. Ridsdale said: "We are prepared to increase our offer on a player for whom we have already submitted a bid." Scotland international Boyd has said he would prefer to stay at Ibrox and fight for a starting role but the chance to spearhead Dave Jones' attack may appeal. However, Jones, who made a cheeky bid to take Chopra back on loan to Ninian Park - just five months after selling him to Sunderland for £5million - may try again for the 24-year-old if he is unsuccessful signing Boyd. Chopra could be deemed surplus to requirements if Roy Keane beefs up his attacking options this summer.
