Keane - I'm going nowhere

Sunderland, 13:30, September 27, 2008 ,

Sunderland boss Roy Keane has signalled his intent to stay at the club and sign a new contract despite criticism from fans this week.

The Black Cats needed penalties to see off Northampton in the Carling Cup at the Stadium of Light in midweek and the fans were not happy, which led to Keane slamming their attitude and that of his players.
However, Keane is not interested in winning any popularity contests but insists he wants to stay on Wearside and sign a new deal.
"There is no chance of me walking away. But I did not come here to be liked and popular," Keane said.
"I came here to do a job. If I have to stir my players up and supporters I will do it."
