Keane drops future hint

Sunderland, 11:27, September 15, 2008 ,

Roy Keane has revealed he is in no rush to sit down with his Sunderland bosses to discuss his long-term future.

The ambitious Irishman has confirmed he has been involved in preliminary discussions about extending his contract at the Stadium of Light, but that his immediate concern is assembling a squad capable of climbing the Premier League.
Keane, speaking after his side's 1-1 draw at Wigan on Saturday, confirmed: "There have been one or two discussions but my contract situation is not really important this time. The priority is bringing players in and building the team.
"When the club find a time to speak to Michael (Kennedy, Keane's lawyer) we'll see what happens. But we're all so relaxed about it it's untrue. I've got a year left but a year is a hell of a long time in football."
