Midfielder open to Cats switch

Sunderland, 14:52, June 24, 2009 ,

Tottenham midfielder Didier Zokora would consider a move to Sunderland but the transfer fee could be the stumbling block.

Black Cats boss Steve Bruce is said to be in the hunt for the Ivory Coast international, who is keen to play more regular first-team football and is targeting a move away from White Hart Lane.
Atletico Madrid and Sevilla are also in the chase but his agent Rachel Anderson says a switch to Sunderland could appeal if they agree to match Tottenham's valuation.
"Didier would definitely prefer to stay in the Premier League. He would do very well at Sunderland, they're an absolutely massive club," Anderson told Sunderland Echo.
"There are not many clubs Didier would leave Tottenham for but I think Sunderland are one. If the terms of the deal are decent, but also if the move is an adventure, then he would be interested. I think he would bring a different dimension to Sunderland.
"Whether they are prepared to pay the fee Tottenham are asking, which I've been told is 'double figure millions', remains to be seen. They paid £8million for him, he has improved so they want more."
