Quinn gives Wigan Bruce decision

Wigan owner Dave Whelan says Niall Quinn has promised his club an answer today on whether they will pay £3m compensation for Steve Bruce
Bruce has already held extensive talks with Quinn and Whelan says that although he wants to keep his manager, he will not stand in Bruce's way as long as the Black Cats pay the same compensation figure he paid Birmingham City to buy out his contract in November 2007.
Quinn apparently promised The Latics an answer by this evening and it clearly comes down to the club's willingness to part with the cash needed to secure the services of the former Manchester United star - who grew up supporting Newcastle.
