Sbragia makes transfer admission
Sunderland, 14:45, January 2, 2009 ,
Ricky Sbragia has admitted Sunderland would have to consider "a big bid" for unsettled pair El-Hadji Diouf and Pascal Chimbonda.
Blackburn manager Sam Allardyce has suggested he may try to re-sign Senegal striker Diouf in the January transfer window, while full-back Chimbonda, another Roy Keane signing, has slipped out of the first-team frame.
They have appeared on the substitutes' bench in recent weeks, but did not feature at all in the 3-0 defeat against Everton at Goodison Park last weekend.
"There's nothing happening with either of them at present," said Sbragia.
"I would like them to stay at the club as part of the squad but, of course, if anyone came in with a big bid, we would have to consider it."
He added: "At Everton, I didn't think Dioufy was match fit while Pascal has had several little knocks which have seen him miss two or three days' training a week, and he really needs to train for a full week before we can think about playing him."
