Star commits Cats future

Sunderland have secured the future of young midfielder Jordan Henderson until 2013 after he penned a new four-year deal.

The 19-year-old has impressed since breaking into the first-team this season and Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has been quick to reward the player with a new contract.

Henderson has made nine appearances for the Black Cats so far this season and grabbed his first goal in the 2-0 victory over Birmingham City in the Carling Cup last month.

Meanwhile, Black Cats officials have also confirmed they are locked in talks with two other unnamed players with regards getting them tied down to new contracts at the Stadium of Light.
