Stokes and Edwards poised for loan moves

Sunderland, 12:57, September 17, 2008 ,

Sunderland manager Roy Keane has said he may allow Carlos Edwards and Anthony Stokes to leave the club on loan.

Interest in Edwards has already come from Sheffield Wednesday who are believed to keen in taking the winger on loan with Keane confirming there had been interest in the Trinidad and Tobago international.
"There has been interest in Carlos and I'll have a chat with him," said Keane.
The former Manchester United midfielder went on to say that if somebody would register an interest in Stokes he may be persuaded to allow him to leave."
I've had no calls about Stokesy, but I'm open-minded with some of the players on the fringes, and if a club wants to ring up and ask about Stokesy, we'll have a chat," Keane added.
"He's keeping his head down and he's working hard.
"I think it would have helped if he'd been away with Ireland Under-21s last week.
"He would have benefited from that because he needs games."
