Striker set to sign

Sunderland, 10:14, July 10, 2009 ,

Sunderland have agreed a deal with Manchester United for England Under-21 international striker Fraizer Campbell.

Black Cats boss Steve Bruce has made signing a new striker one of his top priorities this summer and is now hoping to agree terms with Campbell after matching United's valuation.
Hull City had been hoping to sign the youngster but Sunderland are now in the box seat after nipping in to agree a fee with the Premier League champions.
Bruce will now begin talks with Campbell and as long as personal terms can be agreed, the player should complete the move over the next couple of days.
