Town still keen on Murphy

Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has confirmed negotiations with Ipswich over a deal for striker Daryl Murphy are ongoing.

Bruce is prepared to let the 26-year-old leave the Stadium of Light and it appeared earlier in the summer that he was all set for a move to Portman Road.
Following the arrival of Darren Bent, Murphy's chances of regular action look severely limited this season and he could seal a move to Ipswich in the next few days.
Bruce said: "Talks are ongoing as I understand it and we will just have to wait and see if these talks come to anything."
