Wolves aim to keep wing ace
Sunderland, 15:43, November 18, 2008 ,
Wolves have begun talks with Sunderland over a move to land Carlos Edwards on an extend loan deal at Molineux.
The 30-year-old winger is due to return to the Stadium of Light at the end of December but he has a clause in his contract which states he can be recalled by Sunderland boss Roy Keane any time after the first month of his deal, which started at the start of October.
Black Cats boss Keane has indicated he may want to bring Edwards back before the end of his deal, but Wolves gaffer Mick McCarthy is keen for that not to happen.
Molineux chief executive Jez Moxey revealed talks are underway to prolong Edwards' stay beyond December 28.
Moxey said: "Mick McCarthy has spoken to someone there and we're told we might be able to keep him longer. We'd hope to keep him for at least to the end of the loan period."
