Swansea have failed with another bid for Mark Davies and will have to offer £8million if they wish to land the Bolton midfielder.
The Swans raised their offer to £6million after failing with an initial bid of £4million but Wanderers knocked it back yesterday as they hold out for their valuation. Swans boss Michael Laudrup has hit out at the prices he is being quoted for players in England but after selling Joe Allen to Liverpool for £15million he will have to pay the going rate for Davies. Laudrup now has to decide whether or not to raise his bid again and reports in the north west say Bolton are preparing themselves for another approach and will sell if they are offered £8million. That would still leave enough cash for Laudrup to complete the signing of Valencia midfielder Pablo Hernandez with the club said to be closing in on a £5million swoop.
