Ben Davies is set to fulfil a lifelong dream when he makes his first start for Swansea against Barnsley in the Capital One Cup.
The 19-year-old is a product of the Swans' academy after joining the club at the age of eight, and made his debut as a late substitute in Saturday's 3-0 win over West Ham.
With manager Michael Laudrup set to ring the changes, Davies is now in line for his first start. And, having been brought up in a family of Swans' fans, he admits it will be a very special moment.
"I've always followed the Swans - my whole family are Swans supporters," he said. "My Dad and Mum are season ticket holders.
"It's great to be involved with the Swans especially the way things have been going at the moment. It couldn't come at a better time if I do get the chance to start.
"I've been here since I was eight years old and to have the opportunity to play for the first team is a dream come true."
