Swansea manager Paulo Sousa is boosted by the news that Cedric van der Gun will be available to face Middlesbrough.
The Dutch star has been troubled by a hamstring injury which kept him out of the side last weekend but he has responded to treatment and should be fit for the trip to the Riverside.
Wales captain Ashley Williams was dropped last week but will battle it out with Federico Bessone for a first-team berth and Craig Beattie is pushing for a start after appearing from the bench last week.
Albert Serran is out with his hamstring injury.
