Monk back in the frame
Swansea have been boosted by the news Garry Monk is back available after playing for the under-21s against Charlton.
The 33-year-old has been struggling with a back injury but after playing the full 90 minutes during the 3-1 defeat against the Addicks, he is now closing in on a return to action.
Monk is facing an uncertain future at the club and has admitted he may have to move on if his first-team chances become limited, but for now he is very much a key member of the squad.
Boss Michael Laudrup has been hit by suspension and injury problems at the back in the early part of this season and will be relieved to have the experienced Monk back available.
Ashley Williams is continuing to struggle with an ankle injury and Monk could be called on again in the coming weeks if his team-mate is ruled out with the problem.
