Swansea could be ready to sign former Bolton defender Paul Robinson following the injury to left-back Neil Taylor.

Taylor has been ruled out for the season after breaking his ankle and Swans boss Michael Laudrup is on the look out for a player who is unattached and free to move to the Liberty Stadium. Robinson could be that man following his release from Bolton at the end of last season and Laudrup is considering offering him a contract for the rest of the season. Ben Davies will be given his chance to make the position his own but cover is needed and the vastly experienced Robinson could be a good option for the Swans. Meanwhile, Alan Tate has also thrown his hat into the ring and says he is ready to fill the void left by Taylor. "I said I'd always want to be here to fight for my place," said Tate, who also has huge sympathy for Taylor. "Hopefully the manager will see that if he chooses me to fill in and if I play well I expect to stay there, it's a simple as that."
