Rodgers considers improved striker offer
Swansea boss Brendan Rodgers has failed with a bid to sign Middlesbrough striker Leroy Lita, according to reports.
Rodgers is anxious to bolster his strikeforce ahead of Swansea's first season in the Premier League and is understood to have targeted the former England under-21 star.
Lita has Premier League experience having played there before with Reading and scored 12 goals for Middlesbrough last season.
Rodgers is reported to have offered less than £1 million for the striker but Boro boss Tony Mowbray values him at considerably more, although an improved bid could yet be successful with the Teeside club looking to reduce their wage bill.
