Leroy Lita will leave the Swans to join Birmingham City this weekend, when the emergency loan window opens for Football League clubs.

The former Middlesbrough and Reading man has slipped further down the pecking order at the Liberty Stadium, especially since the arrival of new manager Michael Laudrup. Lita, who cost the Swans £1.75million, has not been involved in the first-team squad for Premier League matches so far this term and will drop down a division in order to get more action. The striker, who underwent a medical on Thursday morning, will remain at St Andrew's until the middle of December although Swansea have insisted on a 24-hour recall clause after the first 28 days of his stay. Birmingham boss Lee Clark told the club's official website: "I know Leroy very well having worked with him at Norwich during a loan spell in which he scored seven goals in 16 games. He's a proven goalscorer who has power and pace and there's no doubt he'll add quality to my squad."
