Swansea could swoop for PSV Eindhoven midfielder Otman Bakkal if as expected Gylfi Sigurdsson opts for a move to Liverpool.
Swans boss Michael Laudrup is set to hold talks with Sigurdsson in the hope he can revive the deal that was set to go through before Brendan Rodgers left for Liverpool.
A £6.8million fee had been agreed with Hoffenheim while Sigurdsson had also accepted the personal terms on offer but the move was not completed when Rodgers left for Anfield and the Icelandic midfielder has had a change of heart.
The player is now likely to link up with Rodgers at Anfield but Laudrup will get one last chance to convince him to go through with his move to the Liberty Stadium.
If Sigurdsson refuses then Laudrup will switch his attentions to 27-year-old Bakkal who is available for transfer after spending last season on loan at Feyenoord.
