Alan Tate has been ruled out for at least a fortnight after damaging a calf muscle in the warm-up before Saturday's win over Blackburn.

The 29-year-old, who captained the Swans in their opening Barclays Premier League fixture at Manchester City, is facing two to three weeks on the sidelines. Manager Brendan Rodgers told the club's official website: "We are looking at two or three weeks out, but his powers of recovery are usually very good, so we will assess things and see how he goes on. "His timing hasn't been great as far as injuries are concerned this year, and it's been disappointing for him because he has been a key member of our group since I have been here." Tate, who broke his leg earlier in the season and has been limited to just five appearances, is hoping to return for the trip to former club Manchester United on May 6.
