Swansea keeper Michel Vorm has revealed he is close to signing a contract extension at the Liberty Stadium.
The Dutchman is out of contract in the summer of 2014 and there has been speculation that Vorm could depart at the end of the season if he does not agree new terms, with reports suggesting former Swans boss Brendan Rodgers is keen to sign the keeper for Liverpool.
However, current Swansea boss Michael Laudrup has moved quickly to offer Vorm a new deal and the keeper has revealed he was surprised at being offered an extension so soon after Laudrup's arrival, but he is keen to remain in south Wales.
He told De Telegraaf: "I was a little bit surprised Swansea City wanted to extend the contract already.
"I had a fantastic season, but when a new coach arrives you always have to wait to see what he thinks about you. However, he was enthusiastic.
"Swansea have stated that I am important for the future and the offer to extend until the summer of 2016 shows a lot of appreciation.
"When my agent, Wessel Weezenberg, returns from holiday the final details will be discussed. But we will definitely come together."
