Paul Caddis will not be part of Paolo Di Canio's squad as Swindon host Brighton in the first round of the Capital One Cup.
The Scottish defender has been replaced by Alan McCormack as the Robins' captain for the new season and has not been included in Di Canio's plans for the cup clash. Nathan Thompson is favourite to replace Caddis at right-back. James Collins will also not feature as he is on international duty. Of Di Canio's numerous summer signings, Tommy Miller, James McEveley and Alan Navarro are most likely to make their competitive debuts. Navarro will be making his first Swindon start against his former club. The midfielder made 64 appearances in three seasons with the Seagulls before making the move to the County Ground this summer.
