Iain Turner is hoping simultaneous trials with Swindon and Bristol Rovers will bear fruit in his search for regular football.
The former Everton and Preston goalkeeper joined Town last week and impressed manager Paolo Di Canio enough to earn 35 minutes of action in the 3-0 victory at Salisbury. Bristol Rovers manager Mark McGhee watched on from the stands ahead of Turner's appearance for his side the following day against rivals Bristol City. The keeper, 28, told the Swindon Advertiser: "I am very grateful to have been able to come to Swindon but I got a phone call and spoke to Mark McGhee and he offered me the chance to play in the game and I was happy to because it is another chance to get myself a contract. "It is a strange situation but from my point of view it is all football and that is what I am after, so hopefully I impress both clubs which gives me more options."
