Bryans claim US glory
Bob and Mike Bryan have won the men's doubles title at the US Open for the second time with victory over Lukas Dlouhy and Leander Paes.
The US stars needed tie-breaks in both sets and the match could not have been closer with the home pair beating the Czech and Indian pairing 7-6 (7-5) 7-6 (12-10) to claim their sixth Grand Slam title.
The brothers were broken early in the first set but broke back to force the tie-break and came through when it mattered to take a 1-0 lead.
Both pairings broke serve in the second and so it was down to another breaker, with the Americans running out winners after a marathon shoot-out.
Bob Bryan said: "This is unreal. Words can't describe it. This feels as good as any win we have ever won. We love playing in New York."
While Mike added: "Just a few points (made the difference). I have a lot of respect for Leander, Leander is a legend. And Lukas is an unbelievable player, he is going to win Grand Slams coming up."
