Federer edges past Del Porto
Roger Federer beat Juan Martin Del Porto 7-6 7-6 to set up a final clash with Andy Murray at the Dubai Tennis Championship.
Federer has yet to drop a serve in this tournament and that fine form continued in this clash, with the Swiss ace not facing a single break point.
Del Porto was equally adept on his serve, however, saving the six break points he conceded, but he was edged out in two tie breaks in a match that went right to the wire.
Del Porto he looked to have set up a third and deciding set when he went 5-0 up in the second set tiebreak but Federer stormed back to stun the Argentine.
The 30-year-old, who won the title in 2007, will now go on and face Andy Murray in the final after the Scot beat Novak Djokovic in the other semi.
