Federer takes Rotterdam crown
Roger Federer showed his class on Sunday by brushing aside Juan Martin Del Potro to win the World Tennis Tournament in Rotterdam.
Many predicted that it would be an entertaining and exciting final, but the Swiss dominated the match, winning 6-1 6-4 in only an hour and 26 minutes to complete his ninth win over the giant Argentine in eleven meetings.
The former world number one got off to the perfect start, winning the first five games of the match as the 2009 US Open champion Del Potro made a series of disappointing errors.
However, the 23-year-old got off to a better start in the second set and led early on, before Federer hit back, winning five of the next seven games and riding out the match.
The 16-time Grand Slam champion must now be full of confidence as he begins his preparations for the second major of the year, the French Open in May.
