Shoulder blow for Del Potro
Juan Martin del Potro will miss the BNP Paribas Masters in Paris due to the shoulder injury he picked up at the Valencia Open.
The 23-year-old Argentine suffered the problem during his semi-final defeat against Marcel Granollers in Spain last week.
And, his decision to withdraw from this week's event in Paris now means he will not be able to qualify for this month's season-ending ATP World Tour Finals in London.
"My shoulder started bothering me in Valencia and it got worse after each round. Now I have to rest and start rehab," the world number 14 told the tour's official website.
Del Potro's main target now is to be fit in time for Argentina's Davis Cup final clash with Spain in early December.
