Federer applies pressure to Nadal

Roger Federer has started the mind games ahead of the US Open by saying the pressure is now on Rafael Nadal.

The Swiss maestro has one last chance to win a Grand Slam title this year, with the action at Flushing Meadows starting on Monday, but will not go into the tournament which he has won for the last four years as the favourite.
Rafael Nadal is the new man at the top, having ended Federer's 237-week tenure as the world's number one, as well as his five-year grip on the Wimbledon crown.
The Spanish ace also recently became the new Olympic champion to cement his place as the world's best and Federer believes things may work in his favour now all of the focus will be on the Majorcan.
"Rafa will now feel what I had to feel for a very long time," said the defending champion.
"It will be interesting to see how he handles it, but so far he's been great and played so well on all surfaces.
"Five years almost, I was expected to win every tournament I entered, so maybe now it changes a little bit.
"Maybe it's nice to go into a Grand Slam for a change not having number one next to me."
Federer will kick off his defence against Argentina's Maximo Gonzalez, while Nadal opens up against Germany's Bjorn Phau.
