Federer passes Kohlschreiber test

Tennis, 09:43, June 27, 2009

Roger Federer declared himself satisfied with the way he forced the rhythm in his one-sided victory over Philipp Kohlschreiber.

The Swiss superstar, aiming for his sixth All England Club success, survived a brief rally by his German opponent to win 6-3 6-2 6-7 (5-7) 6-1 and set up a repeat of the French Open final against Robin Soderling.
The 27-year-old world number two appeared unfazed despite a third-set wobble on Centre Court and admitted his third-round success was his most impressive so far.
"I thought it was a good match. I thought the rhythm was very high," he said.
"Sure, I would have loved to win in straight sets, but he came back strong. Maybe my serve let go just a little bit.
"I was happy how I reacted. I didn't panic. It was an excellent match in the end."
