British number one Andy Murray says he has his work cut out to pass Jurgen Melzer but is confident of making the US Open third round.
The 21-year-old Scot was given a thorough workout in his opening match before overcoming Michael Llodra in four sets, and now faces another left-hander in the form of the Melzer.
Although the Austrian is ranked ten places lower in the world rankings, Murray insists that it will be another tough game at Flushing Meadows.
"Lefty serves are tricky to read and with really good net coverage as well you've got to return great and pass well if you want to win," he said.
"I managed to do that in the third and fourth sets against Llodra but the first couple of sets I didn't and it was very tough."
On Melzer, Murray added: "He's another lefty, comes to the net a lot, plays aggressive.
"He's a tough guy to play against, like Roger (Federer) - doesn't give you too much rhythm. But I feel like I'm playing well just now. I'm confident and I look forward to the match."
