Murray moves on but with pain

Tennis, 10:53, November 7, 2009

Andy Murray admitted he is still feeling some pain in his wrist after overcoming Albert Montanes in straight sets in Valencia.

The Scot is on the comeback trail after six weeks off with a wrist injury, which he aggravated playing for Great Britain in the Davis Cup back in September.
The British number one has looked good in his opening two matches of the tournament and cruised through to the semi-finals with a 6-4 6-2 victory over the Spaniard.
He broke in the opening game of the first set only to lose his first service game, but his class eventually took its toll and the second set was a more one-sided affair.
Murray will now face Fernando Verdasco in the last four and he is pleased that things appear to be progressing nicely on court, despite a bit of pain in the troublesome wrist, which he wrapped in ice at the post-match press conference.
"I played well today and tomorrow (Saturday) I hope to improve even more," he said. "My wrist is still giving me some pain but I am feeling better every day.
"It's always good to make sure you take care of parts of your body that have shown some kind of a weakness in the past."
