Murray out to equal Andre

Tennis, 16:26, August 5, 2008

Andy Murray is hoping to emulate the feat of his hero, Andre Agassi, and taste Olympic glory in Beijing.

The 21-year-old, fresh from his first Masters Series victory in Cincinnati, is due to play in both the singles and doubles in China, before heading off to New York and the year's final Grand Slam - the US Open.
Many have questioned the wisdom of taking on such a punishing schedule ahead of the Flushing Meadows showpiece but the Scot admitted that he is keen to be part of an event that captured his imagination over a decade ago when Agassi took the gold medal.
"When I was younger I used to watch the track and field a lot, but for me seeing Agassi win gold was awesome," he said.
"It's an honour and a privilege to get this opportunity and hopefully I can replicate what he did when he won his gold medal.
"To get the opportunity to take part in such a huge competition is fantastic. I'm really looking forward to it."
