Andy Murray believes he has a chance of claiming Olympic medals in both the singles and doubles tournaments in Beijing.
The Scot will fancy his chances of progressing to the latter stages of the singles event in China on his favoured surface, although he could come up against Wimbledon champion - and the man who beat him at SW19 - Rafael Nadal in the last eight.
However, the British number one, who takes on Chinese Taipei's Lu Yen-Hsun in the first round on Monday, is confident he can give a good account of himself.
"I've played well the last few months and if I can keep that up I've got a good chance," he told the BBC. "On any given day anyone can beat anyone but I've got a tricky draw and I have to play well if want to get a medal."
On the prospect of taking on Nadal again, he said: "I've had a lot of chances in three of matches we've played.
"I won against Djokovic a couple of times recently and I've beaten Federer a couple of times so it's getting the first win against him and hopefully that'll turn it around. But he's a tough guy to beat."
Murray will be joined by his brother Jamie in the doubles but they face an immediate test of their medal credentials when they take on Canadian world number one Daniel Nestor and Frederic Niemeyer on Sunday.
But Andy believes they can compete for a medal in that event too if they're at the top of their games.
"We've got a tough first match so it's going to be tricky," he added. "But if we play well we've got a chance of going far and maybe sneaking a medal."
