Andy Murray feels his serve could be the crucial factor for a long run at the US Open, after a comfortable first round win.
The British number one began his Flushing Meadow campaign with a crushing straight sets defeat of Argentina's Sergio Roitman, coming out on top 6-3 6-4 6-0.
Murray bounced back from his Olympic failure to start the final Grand Slam of the year in fine style and will now take on France's Michael Llodra in the second round.
The 21-year-old feels his serve is key for his chances of success in New York, saying after Monday's opening game: "I didn't lose my serve the whole match.
"I thought he played pretty well for about a set-and-a-half. It was a decent test and I came through it pretty well."
Murray added: "I'm feeling really confident just now regardless of what happened in Beijing.
"I feel I'm hitting the ball well. I feel mentally strong and physically I'm not tired so I want to do well here and this was a good start."
