Serena relishing rival's return

Tennis, 10:53, January 29, 2010

Serena Williams feels she will have to up her game against Justine Henin if she is to win the Australian Open final on Saturday.

The two players enjoyed a fierce rivalry for many seasons before Henin took a couple of years out of the game, with the American leading the head-to-head results 7-6.
The duo have never met in a Grand Slam final, however, although the Belgian accounted for Williams in three Grand Slam quarter-finals in 2007 - the year before she decided to 'quit' the sport.
And now they will face each other in Melbourne in the first major tournament of the year, and Williams feels she will have to improve her game to compete with the 27-year-old at the weekend.
"I definitely think of her as a rival. We bring out the best game in each other," she said. "We both just play our hearts out. That's what creates a good rivalry.
"Justine is playing really well. She's doing great. I hope to serve well. But regardless, I'll have to do other things well, too."
