Baker bags short-term deal

Torquay have handed local winger Karl Baker a short-term deal.

The 22-year-old, who's a former Torquay Centre of Excellence prospect, impressed while on trial at the club. Manager Martin Ling told the club's official website: "He's definitely got something. I want to give him a chance to see what he can really do with extended full-time training. "He has a wonderful left foot and the ability to deliver dangerous crosses, so we'll see what happens over the next few months."
