Stevens out for Gulls

Torquay will host Leicester in the first round of the Capital One Cup without winger Danny Stevens.

The 25-year-old missed his side's final 3-0 pre-season friendly win at Weston-super-Mare after picking up a thigh injury in training and manager Martin Ling has confirmed Stevens will be unable to recover in time to face the Foxes. Fellow wingman Lloyd Macklin is a major doubt after he sustained a knee injury in training while midfielders Nathan Craig (foot) and Saul Halpin (ankle) are out. Ling will also be without summer signing Billy Bodin, who is on international duty after being selected for Geraint Williams' Wales Under-21 squad for their European Championship qualifier against Armenia.
