Bentley given move options
Tottenham Hotspur, 15:19, July 20, 2010 ,
Stoke are battling it out with Aston Villa for the services of winger David Bentley who could be surplus to requirements at Tottenham.
The People claim Potters boss Tony Pulis is still interested in the midfielder despite the fact he hurt his ankle in Spurs' friendly against Bournemouth last week.
Bentley's injury is set to keep him on the sidelines for up to a month, but the report suggests Pulis is still determined to push ahead with a deal to get his squad together as soon as possible for the new campaign.
However, it's understood Bentley's preference if he does leave White Hart Lane would be to join Villa, although that move could depend on manager Martin O'Neill raising funds by offloading some of his fringe players.
A fee in the region of £10m has been touted so clearly James Milner's rumoured £30m switch to Manchester City would give the Midlands outfit the cash needed to mount a bid for the former Arsenal and Blackburn star.
