Blues linked with £8m bid

Chelsea are reported to be lining up an £8million January swoop for Tottenham star Giovani dos Santos.

The Mexican forward only arrived at White Hart Lane from Barcelona in the summer but there have already been reports in the press suggesting that a move to Stamford Bridge is on the cards.

Chelsea are keen and speculation suggests they have been keeping an eye on developments with regards to the player's ankle injury. Giovani picked up the injury in training last week and there were fears he could be looking at a lengthy spell on the sidelines if he required surgery to cure the problem.

However, Spurs have now revealed the problem is not that serious and the player will not need to have an operation. That could be good news for Chelsea who could be set to offer £8million when the window opens.
