Andre Villas-Boas has confirmed that goalkeeper Brad Friedel will keep his place in the Tottenham team for Sunday's game at Reading.
The Spurs boss has held clear the air talks with new signing Hugo Lloris following his return from international duty with France, and explained the situation in the fight for the number one jersey at White Hart Lane.
Villas-Boas claims Lloris may not even be on the bench this weekend as he has only trained with his new team-mates once since his big money move on deadline day.
Clint Dempsey, who also signed on deadline day, could make his debut at the Madejski Stadium, but Younes Kaboul (knee), Scott Parker (Achilles) and Heurelho Gomes (ankle) are out.
