Tottenham are believed to be eyeing a summer move for Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris as the club looks to bring in a younger number one.
Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to find a long-term replacement for Brad Friedel, who turns 41 next month, despite an impressive first year at the club from the American. Redknapp has also taken a fancy to Newcastle stopper Tim Krul, but his decision to sign a new contract with the Magpies last month coupled with rumoured rival interest from Chelsea, is understood to have forced a rethink. Tottenham already have a good knowledge of Ligue 1, with scouts having spent the last few months looking closely at Lille midfielder Eden Hazard and Marseille striker Loic Remy. French radio station RMC are now claiming that Lloris has caught their attention after a series of impressive displays and Redknapp himself is not against the idea of signing the former Nice man. The 25-year-old, who also captains France, is widely regarded as one of the Europe's best goalkeepers and would bring with him plenty of experience, having played regular for his country and in the Champions League.
